A Milestone
Hey there, to the five or so people who read this blog, I wanted to post something that has turned out to be a bit of a milestone for me–my first sermon.
Like a lot of women out there who have grown up in certain segments of the Church, I never would have imagined that I would ever preach a sermon. It wasn’t in my worldview growing up, so I didn’t have space for it. But over the years, as I’ve seen other women take up roles in ministry and on faculty at universities and seminaries, some space has been created for me to imagine such a thing.
This sermon is something of a moment of passage for me; it’s a first sermon, so keep that in mind. But it is on a wonderful text, Psalm 130. And the topic is hope; something I am learning to understand.
So here it is: if you have any pointers for me, do pass them on!
Just paste this link into your browser and it will come up. It was recorded on a Blackberry, so the quality isn’t great…
