I’m not really computer literate enough to understand it all. I do find it kind of annoying that I can’t put anything on my profile without it linking to all kinds of pages, but I won’t quit over it, people will just have to ask me if they’re really that interested in my hobbies or interests. Otherwise I’m not sure what the problem is as long as you check your privacy settings regularly and make sure only yours friends can see things and that other websites and applications don’t have access to your info. Am I missing something?

Mandy, I did the same thing after I woke up one morning to find I had been signed up to who knows how many pages based on my interests. So I don’t have any interests listed anymore. And I carefully checked my privacy settings as well. I am a little more pragmatic about it. A Google search shows me just how much people can find out about me without even going to Facebook! I guess if I want to reap the benefits of the information age, I have to be willing to deal with the disadvantages–and be a savvy user…I certainly understand why people might want to quit Facebook, I just enjoy it too much to do that!
